Lets Club Together

Back in October 2021, We were contacted through our web site chat box, by the treasurer of The Binfield Club.

The clock on the outside of their building had not worked for a long while and they asked if we could take a look to see what solutions were available to get it going again.

We carried out a free site visit and inspected the clock, unfortunately, the movement had failed and seized, probably because it had never been serviced, and the master clock had had better days.

It was agreed that we should change the movement, master clock and refurbish the dial and hands at the same time.

Prep work

After the budget was agreed. The club patrons, set about raising funds to have the work completed, and after a few months of fund raisers, the money was raised and we attended site in May of this Year and removed the old equipment.

The dial was bead blasted back to the base metal, sealed and then powder coated gloss black, we then applied 23crt double gold leaf to the Roman numerals and produced new spacing blocks for the dial supports, as the original spacers had rusted onto the fixing bolts.

Dial Install

The hands were stripped and weather sealed, then new hand bushes were fitted to suit the new movement, the hands were then painted Black.

We finally returned to site July after a very wet June, to install the new movement, refurbished dial, hands and new master clock and Radio receiver.

The completed project looked great and everyone we spoked to, agreed it was good to have the clock up and running again after so long without it.
